Spew

This morning Noah was playing a Nick Jr. game on the computer while I watched from my perch on the massage table, with my ice pack and blanket. After each level, Noah would read me his score and he did fine until it reached over one hundred.

Noah: "One hundredityedid seventy eight."

Me: "A hundred seventy eight?"

Noah: "Yes Mom, I knew that! I learn things that come out of your mouth."

Wow. This means that one, or both of us, is in serious trouble.

No wonder Kermit is singing the NIN blues

Poor frog was in Iraq. Home for months and he still hasn't received his first benefit check from that frog leg incident.

Daylight Savings Crap

Why do we do this, every year? Spring forward, fall back, blah, blah, blah.

This "energy saving" measure is a load of crap. People may not need to turn on a light bulb as often, but are motivated to drive more and use other appliances that use gas and or electricity.

All it does is make the nation cranky. Especially the kids whose sleep schedules we are messing with. As any mother will tell you, that will fuck up your day like nothing else.

Besides, don't you remember what it was like as a kid, having to go to bed when it was still light out? It was the most unnatural thing in the whole world, like kissing Aunt Gladys who smelt like death and Juicy Fruit Gum. Ick.

Good riddance already.

Second verse, same as the first!

As I mentioned in my last post, last Friday through Sunday, the Twin Cities got 9.1 inches of snow.

Today is round two. The National Weather Service itself says, "We're going to get pummeled."

Currently, at 10AM we have moderate snow with some rainy slush mixed in for good measure. Around lunch time it's supposed to turn to heavy snow and we should get 8 -12 inches by midnight.

We actually are under a blizzard warning. Excellent. Most excellent.

Stan took a vacation day so he didn't have to fight the rush hour traffic coming home in what is predicted to be white out conditions by 3 PM.

Noah is staying home from school.

Jesse just took off and is planning on being home around 10PM. We'll see what happens with that. Hopefully he'll be able to make it home okay.

I will be happy and warm. The only thing I couldn't handle is if the power went out. So none of that, storm! Okay?
